Washington, DC has no shortage of events and activities to partake in.  We’ve narrowed it down to just a few of the DC events this September that we’re most excited about:

 

DC VegFest

This completely vegan food festival is the largest of its kind on the East Coast and it is completely free to attend.  Whether you follow a plant based diet already or are hoping to learn more about the lifestyle, this is the perfect opportunity to sample goods from well-known and local brands, plus some of our favorite DC area restaurants.  Come for the food, stay for the music, inspiring speakers, and cooking demonstrations.  The first 1000 people through the door will receive a free tote bag filled with goodies and coupons!

The Great Inflatable Race

As far as “fun runs” go, this one is sure to have you giggling the whole way!  The Great Inflatable Race is an inflatable obstacle-laced race course that will have you feeling like a kid again, all while getting an incredible workout.  PRO TIP: Sign up for the full VIP Registration package to unlock access to the “Inflatable Village”, a play area separate from the race course that VIP participants can enjoy all day long.

Drink The District: Wine Edition

Say farewell to summer with unlimited samplings of 100+ wines at the French Embassy’s La Maison Française.  In addition to wine tasting, attendees will enjoy live music, culinary demonstrations, the DMV’s best food trucks, a local artisan market and more.  This is a 21+ plus event so be sure to pack your ID and leave the little ones behind.

When: Saturday, September 9th, 1pm – 4pm and 6pm – 9pm

H Street Festival

What began over 12 years ago as a neighborhood block party has evolved into one of DC’s most attended and most adored street festivals.  Stations lining the street offer up everything from live music and dance performances to interactive artwork and fashion showcases.  Restaurants along the H Street Corridor as well as street vendors will be on hand to make sure you don’t go hungry.

Opera In The Outfield

Two of our favorite DC things – Washington National Opera and Nationals Park – come together this September for Opera in the Outfield.  A live simulcast of Aida, being performed at The Kennedy Center, will be shown on the hi-def Nats scoreboard at Nats Park.  Show up early to take advantage of some fun pre-opera activities.

When: Saturday, September 23rd, Gates at 5pm, Performance at 7pm
