There is a major local vibe here, and we don’t just mean who is hanging out there. The menu items and goods sold here are either created in or inspired by the city of Charleston. Their menu is updated frequently to feature seasonal items, and you can’t go wrong with anything here.

Lunch

Fast-casual probably isn’t the typical meal you would go for when dining out in a foodie town such as Charleston, but Dellz Uptown is one place you don’t want to miss. This vegan-friendly, hole in the wall restaurant serves wraps, salads, pizzas, and more, and all of it is both incredible and affordable. Make sure you order the Jazzy Pizza and the Beach Bum Wrap, you won’t regret it!

Well worth the quick drive out to Sullivan’s Island is The Obstinate Daughter, a Southern restaurant with French, Italian, and Spanish influence. The menu consists of a variety of wood-fired pizzas, small plates, gourmet pasta, and raw bar options. The interior has a dreamy and intimate feel to it, all while maintaining the laid-back beach vibes of Sullivan’s Island. Local Dive-Bar Feels

The Royal American is a local favorite. Live music, cheap drinks, and intricate decor give it the ultimate dive-bar feel. Whether you prefer to hang inside around the bar or venture outside to the patio, you’ll be able to enjoy the live tunes and relaxed vibe. Royal American is located away from all of the action on King Street, which adds to the laid-back environment. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming, the drinks are strong, and there’s always a good crowd hanging out.

Day Drinking

Shem Creek, located across the Arthur Ravenel Bridge in Mount Pleasant, is the place to be when you want to enjoy a day of outdoor drinking. Saltwater Cowboys is Shem Creek’s newest restaurant and it does not disappoint. What to Do

Soak Up The Sun on Sullivan’s Island

Each beach is unique in its own way, and they are all breathtakingly beautiful. Roughly nine miles away from Downtown Charleston is Sullivan’s Island, a charming beach town with a lot of character, and our top beach recommendation. While the island is small, there is plenty to do. Local restaurants and shops line the streets while sunbathers, kiteboarders, and bikers take on the beaches. History meets island charm making Sullivan’s Island an unforgettable place.
