Best Dog Friendly Restaurants DC Has To Offer

On the (relatively) short list of things that we love here at Apartminty, food and dogs are pretty darn close to the top.  While we both enjoy cooking in our apartments, we also enjoy dining out in DC.  And while neither of us are dog parents (yet), few things make us happier than hanging with other people’s dogs.  Put those two things together (plus a cocktail or two) and life really couldn’t get any better.  With that in mind, here are the best dog-friendly restaurants DC has to offer – perfect places to enjoy happy hour or brunch on a warm DC day with your pooch.

Cantina Marina

This Southwest Waterfront favorite is known for its great drinks, tasty food and gorgeous views of the water and is a truly unique experience in the city.  Not only does this place allow dogs, customers comment that the staff is truly dog-friendly, serving up water, treats and lots of love for your four-legged friends.  It seems as though there really isn’t a bad time to bring your pup along, but follow Cantina Marina’s Facebook Page to learn about upcoming yappy hours or d0g-centric events.

This Columbia Heights RAMMY awards darling serves up inventive dishes that please meat and veggie lovers alike.  The specially crafted cocktails are a standout hit amongst diners and brunch favorites include the falafel burger on a Bullfrog Bagels bialy and the grilled cheese.  Passers-by benefit from an ice-water dog bowl on the sidewalk, and diners are welcome to bring their pups along to dine on the patio.

Oz Restaurant & Bar

Although they’re relative newcomers to the dog-friendly dining scene, we had to mention this Arlington hot spot as a great option across the bridge.  There are not many Clarendon dining options that allow you to bring your pooch along, so if you live in Arlington or your friends drag you across the bridge for brunch, keep this spot in mind.  Whether you want a quick lunch, leisurely dinner, $35 bottomless brunch or to take advantage of some great happy hour specials, this is the place to be.
