You’re moving to a new apartment!
Which means you have to pack up your stuff.
We know moving can be a hassle. It’s also inevitable.
That’s why we’re sharing four simple moving tips that will ensure your belongings get to their final destination, and you aren’t scrambling to find a towel the morning after.
Even if you’ve hired movers or you’re moving into a place that’s already furnished (like the apartments at 100 Midtown in Atlanta or The Reserve on West 31st in Lawrence, Kansas), these tips will be helpful.
- Label your boxes with: the contents; which room they belong in; an arrow that indicates which end is up; “fragile” if the contents are breakable. (For free, printable labels, click HERE.)
- Put your valuables (jewelry, heirlooms, etc.) and important documents in a box that you’ll move yourself. Some things are just too precious to put in someone else’s hands.
- Pack a suitcase with enough clothes for a few days. That way if you’re not completely unpacked or the bulk of your possessions is getting to your new home after you, you’re not stuck wearing the same outfit.
- Pack a box with the essentials you’ll need for the first night at your new place, as well as the next day: light bulbs, bed linens, bath towels, toiletries, power cords and chargers, etc.
